If you haven't been to Brush Park in a while, it will definitely look different next time you see it. Construction is ramping up across the historic neighborhood. One of the many projects that's currently underway is Brush 8.
Foundation has been poured and framing should start soon. Construction is expected to be substantially completed this fall and progress can be followed here.
Brush 8 is led by Moddie Turay of City Growth Partners and designed by DEP Designs with Chuong Cao as principal architect -- the first project in Detroit for DEP. DEP is known for their modern townhomes and infill in historic neighborhoods in Washington D.C. The Brush 8 townhomes have a brick exterior with floor-to-ceiling windows, with a minimalist design and beautiful woodwork in the interior. The kitchen appliances are concealed and blend in with the custom cabinetry.
Sabra Sanzotta, Owner/Broker at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices | The Loft Warehouse, says that three of the eight units have sold so far, two to younger couples and one to empty nesters. They're currently for sale from $649,000-$689,000 (for pre-construction pricing) and range from about 1,800 square feet to over 2,100. They have two beds, two and a half baths, and an attached garage. The townhomes have four levels, including a penthouse/rooftop terrace, with a skylight that brings light all the way down to the first level.
Sanzotta says Brush Park is appealing to many right now because there's so many new developments, plus it's in a very central location with walkability.
The development is being built on an empty lot at 3119 Brush Street, across from the large Brush + Watson development and down the street from City Modern.
