We've been hard at work expanding what Urbanize offers. Here's the short version:

• More free articles for everyone. We've raised the monthly free-article allowance for registered readers across all our sites.
• A redesigned interactive project map with better filters, faster performance, and richer project detail.
• New Pro tools: Saved Searches, daily project Notifications, and CSV Data Export — all built on top of the new map.
• A site-wide feedback widget (the button in the bottom-right of every page) so it's easier than ever to tell us what's working and what isn't.

Anyone can read 5 articles per month without signing in. After that you'll be prompted to create a free account — no payment required — which gives you a larger monthly allowance.

Regardless of subscription status, the following are always free across every city site:

• The interactive project map
• Individual project pages
• City and neighborhood landing pages
• Our email newsletters
• Article previews and headlines
• Once you've used your monthly free reads, a Pro subscription unlocks unlimited reading until the meter resets the next month.

The map has been rebuilt from the ground up. You can filter projects by status (Proposed, Approved, Under Construction, Completed), by land use, by height and unit count, and more. Click any project to see a summary card with links to the full project page and related articles. The map is free for all visitors — Pro subscribers additionally get Saved Searches, Notifications, and Data Export on top of it.

Pro is our paid tier. It includes:

• Unlimited articles across all city sites and our national site
• An ad-free reading experience
• Saved Searches — save any map filter combination and load it again with one click
• Project Notifications — get a daily email when new projects match one of your saved searches
• Data Export — download project details as a CSV, up to 50 projects per month

Pro is one subscription that works on every Urbanize city site.

A Saved Search is a snapshot of the filters you've applied on the map — status, land use, neighborhood, height range, anything you've set. Pro subscribers can save as many as they like and re-run them with one click.

To save a search:

• Open the map and apply any combination of filters.
• Click the save icon (plus-bookmark) in the map's top toolbar. Your search is saved instantly with an auto-generated name like "Los Angeles search 1".
• Open My Searches from the same toolbar to rename it to something memorable (e.g. "East Side high-rises"), turn on email notifications, export the results, or delete it.

Your Saved Searches sync to your account, so they're available on every Urbanize city site.

Notifications let you turn any Saved Search into a daily project alert. Once a day, if any new projects have been added that match a saved search, we'll send you a short email summarizing them with links to the project pages.

To enable notifications:

• Click My Searches in the map's top toolbar.
• Click the bell icon next to any saved search to turn notifications on or off for that search.

We only email when there's actually something new — no daily "nothing to report" messages. You can disable notifications on any individual search at any time, or unsubscribe from all of them via the link at the bottom of any notification email.

Data Export lets Pro subscribers download the projects in their current map view (or saved search) as a CSV file. The export includes ID, title, status, land uses, neighborhood, address, APN, lat/long, floors, height, podium details, unit counts (apartments, condos, hotel rooms), parking spaces, office and retail square footage, associated companies, article count, cities, and the project URL.

To export:

• Apply filters on the map (or load a Saved Search) so the view contains the projects you want.
• Click the Export button in the map toolbar.
• Confirm the project count and download your CSV.

Each Pro account can export up to 50 projects per calendar month. The counter resets on the 1st of the month.

Select one of the plans above and click Subscribe. We'll guide you through a quick Stripe checkout, then send you back to where you were. Your subscription is tied to your Urbanize account, so it works automatically on every one of our city sites — no separate logins, no separate billing.

Already have a free Urbanize account? Sign in first and your subscription will attach to that account.

Urbanize accounts are passwordless. When you sign in, we email you a one-time sign-in link — click it and you're in. No password to remember, no password to forget, no password to steal in a breach.

You can also sign in with your Google, LinkedIn, or Yahoo account if you originally signed up that way.

Once you're signed in as a subscriber, click your name in the top-right of any page and choose My Account. That opens our secure Stripe billing portal where you can update your payment method, download receipts, switch plans, or cancel.

If you cancel, you'll keep full Pro access through the end of your current billing period — we never cut you off early.

Yes. If you'd like Pro access for a team, a department, or an entire firm, we have group subscriptions that give multiple readers access under one bill. Send us a note through the feedback widget (or email us at support@urbanize.city) with a rough headcount and we'll get back to you with options.

We use your email to send you the things you've asked for — sign-in links, account notifications, project notifications you've turned on, and any newsletters you've subscribed to. We don't sell your email and we don't share it with third parties for marketing. You can unsubscribe from any newsletter or notification at any time.

Click the Feedback button in the bottom-right of any page. A short form lets you tell us what's on your mind — a bug, a feature request, a comment on a story, anything. Email is optional but helpful if you'd like a reply. Every message goes straight to our team, and we read all of them.
