Between downtown Detroit and Ford's Michigan Central, a new hotel is open in Corktown. The 227-room Godfrey Hotel has officially opened along Michigan Avenue.
The hotel features a in indoor/outdoor rooftop bar, the IO Rooftop Lounge (rendering above); a 5,000-square-foot ballroom; a fitness center; and multiple room options, including rooms that are pet-friendly. A new restaurant, Hamilton's, will open this fall.

Oxford Capital and Hunter Pasteur led the development of this hotel, one of four Godfrey Hotels across the U.S. Oxford and Hunter Pasteur are also building a large new residential development just up Michigan Avenue. In late 2021, Oxford Capital bought the Book Cadillac, which has been undergoing a renovation.
It's the third major hotel to open in Detroit this year. The Cambria Hotel opened on Lafayette this spring, while the Roost Hotel in the Book Tower opened at the beginning of June.
