Bedrock announced this morning the addition of another East Riverfront property to its portfolio. The development group has acquired Roberts Riverwalk Hotel at 1000 River Place. It sits between the former UAW-GM Training Center and 300 River Place, which it purchased last year.
The property has 5,500 square feet of banquet and event space, 108 hotel rooms, 126 parking spaces, and 290 feet of frontage on the Detroit River.
“Bedrock’s acquisition of the Roberts Riverwalk Hotel further emphasizes our investment in the redevelopment of Detroit’s East Riverfront,” said Cathy Clark, chief investment officer at Bedrock. “Strategically located along our evolving riverfront footprint, this historic hotel provides increased access to parking and public amenities, all strategically located directly along Detroit’s International Riverwalk.”
No further details were released, but Bedrock says additional updates would come in 2023.
Bedrock owns over 100 properties in Detroit, mainly downtown. It's biggest development projects currently underway include the Hudson's Site and the restoration of Book Tower. But in the past few years, the group has expanded its reach into the East Riverfront, Corktown, and Southwest Detroit.
