The Brooke opening in May
New apartments will be ready for the Grand Opening of Michigan Central. The Brooke, led by Woodborn Partners, will have 78 apartments and retail space. It sits across from HoneyBee Market on Bagley, just behind the train station. While some are set aside as affordable, studios will start at $1,600 per month. Pre-leasing has started. A Lions practice facility downtown?
Will the Lions move their practice facility from Allen Park to a location in Detroit? It's on the table, but not for a while. Lions President Rod Wood said on Monday that they could consolidate operations in the city, and it could make sense with the reconstruction of I-375 slated to start next year. While they are modernizing their Allen Park facility, it could be another three or four years until we see movement on a relocation. Detroit News

Many Detroit neighborhoods are well-known and have pretty clear boundaries. But sometimes, the name of a neighborhood seemingly comes out of nowhere, and a name is used that even the residents don't understand. Detroit-neighborhoods.com is a new resource that gives residents a voice. "An area with a single solid color signifies agreement for the neighborhood name, whereas an area with a mix of colors or a “muddied” color means there is contention.
