Here are a few of the stories we're reading this week:
Hotel at Hudson's
Part of the Hudson's site development will be a hotel, and permits were recently pulled for its interior buildout. Early reports say that this will be a luxury Edition Hotel, although that hasn't been confirmed. The hotel will be located on floors 12-23 of the tower, and will have 210 rooms, with an estimated buildout cost of $84.7 million. Construction has been moving right along on the 49-story tower and its 12-story neighbor. Opening dates have not been set, but could happen late next year. Detroit Free Press
New law school building at Wayne State
A new $40 million law school building is in the works at Wayne State University. An 80,000-square-foot building would replace the current 17,689-square-foot building. $30 million has come from the state budget for this project. WSU is still early in the planning stages for this project, but it would house its minor, bachelor, and master programs in its law department. Crain's Detroit Business

Avalon Village has a Homework House, outdoor activity space, a garden, and space for women entrepreneurs. She's been recognized as one of CNN's top 10 heroes and could be awarded Hero of the Year and $100,000 if she gets enough votes. People can vote up to 10 times a day here until December 5. The Hero of the Year will be announced by Anderson Cooper on December 10. Bridge Detroit
