Big Sky, Quebec, Dominica, and our own Detroit - just a few of the 12 places named by Conde Nast Traveler as The Best Places to Go in North America & the Caribbean in 2024.
Conde Nast highlighted a few of the many developments set to open in 2024 in the Motor City. This includes the high profile Hudson's Site and Michigan Central, both massive developments sure to make national (and international) headlines. But the article also points out a new green space sure to attract more tourists - the transformational Ralph C. Wilson Centennial Park along the city's west Riverfront.
Hotels developments are also included, like the under construction AC Hotel and Bonstelle Theatre (Sachse Construction recently posted a construction update on Instagram). The 10-story hotel will bring 153 more hotel rooms plus entertainment space to Brush Park. A renovation of the Courtyard by Marriott is also mentioned, along with the recent opening of the Godfrey Hotel in Corktown.
If we were to include some recent highlights, we'd be remiss not to mention the exceptional restoration of the Book Tower, which includes residential, a hotel, and multiple new restaurants, along with the recently opened Cambria Hotel.
Detroit will have thousands of visitors this spring, as the city will host the NFL Draft at the end of April.
Along with the new developments mentioned, we'd have to include the Riverfront, the Guardian Building, the Fisher Building, Campus Martius, and Belle Isle as must-see stops on a Detroit visit. Which other locations would you suggest visitors stop and see?
