New tenants in Eastern Market

iHeartMedia will set up shop in a building currently being renovated in Eastern Market. The building stands at Orleans and Adelaide, and buildout could be completed in May. They'll move sales and production to the building, and shows like Mojo in the Morning will broadcast from it. Patterson Terrace comes back

A property in Brush Park many thought could be demolished is seeing new life. Apartments at Patterson Terrace, on the corner of Erskine and John R, could come online for rent this spring. Ramiz Almass owns four of the seven units and is close to a deal for the other three. The building was like a shell, destroyed by fire and vacancy, and the interior has been completely rebuilt. Some have added penthouse floors. One of the vacant units had a tunnel under it. Construction work already at Joe Louis site

We did not see this coming so soon. Kirk Pinho reports that site work has started at the riverfront property of the former Joe Louis Arena. Sterling Group owns the land, and while initial foundation work is permitted, the building work isn't finalized yet. Earlier plans called for a 500-unit, 24-story apartment tower. The case for green space

Sometimes green space can be linked to gentrification in urban areas, often leading to displacement. But that's not always the case. Detroit is listed as an example of greenways done the right way in ArchDaily. Community engagement in the earlier stages of planning can lead to benefits for everyone involved.
