After a closure that started in September, our beloved People Mover is running again in downtown Detroit.

It's currently running a continuous 36-hour service through 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving, with special events for riders. From 6-10 p.m. Wednesday (tonight), join the Raid Train with a DJ at the Broadway Station. During the Thanksgiving Day parade from 7-10 a.m., pick up some hot cocoa and hand warmers at the Grand Circus Park station.

The closure occurred for a track replacement project over the last couple of months. 7,000 feet of track over nine curves were replaced.

The People Mover is still free to ride, at least until the end of the 2025. The elevated rail has also extended its hours. Its new schedule will be:

  • Monday-Friday: 6:30 a.m. – Midnight

  • Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – Midnight

  • Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
