Detroit's elevated rail will start charging again for a ride on its loop around downtown. On Monday, October 31, fares of $.75 resume on the People Mover.

Monthly and annual passes will offer a discount for frequent riders. A Value Pass costs $15 and offer riders unlimited rides in November and December or January and February. An Annual Pass costs $100 and will be good for 14 months (through 2023). Passes can be purchased online or in the administrative office.

If someone purchased a pass pre-pandemic, they can get a Welcome Back Pass for free fare. Also, senior citizens 65 or older can get free passes.

Along with the change in fares, the People Mover will host a "Train of Treats" at the Broadway Station at Halloween. Children can stop by for goodies. There will also be a special car from 4-6 p.m. with giveaways.

After a long COVID shutdown, the People Mover resumed limited operations this spring. It's still only stopping at 10 out of its 13 stations (currently not stopping at Bricktown, Cadillac Center, or Times Square) and doesn't run on Sundays.
