New condos are almost ready in Corktown. Located on Bagley between Rosa Parks Boulevard and Trumbull, the Coachman is bringing 22 new condos to the historic neighborhood.
Altia Bagley broke ground on the development earlier this spring, and according to realtor James Tumey of O'Connor Real Estate, they should be ready for closing in January 2023. Designed by PUSH Design, the condos come in one- and two-bedroom units, traditional and carriage houses, ranging in size from $269,000 to $650,000. Units are available in single- or multi-level, 715 to 1,500 square feet, with balconies and/or outdoor space. The HOA fees are $246 per month, and they have an NEZ tax abatement.

It's close to a number of developments underway in Corktown, including the Godfrey Hotel and Michigan and Church along Michigan Avenue, and the redevelopment of Michigan Central just a few blocks away.

"From day one, we knew we wanted to bring a fresh point of view to Detroit's oldest and hottest neighborhood," says Tumey. "The day we closed on the site, we went to a coffee shop and drew a (somewhat sloppier version) of what you see today, 22 modern residences. The juxtaposition of the "new modern" with the "old historic" is something I love to see in cities all over the world. That's exactly where certain design elements are inspired from. The slatted terrace screens with oversized sliding glass walls, private and shared resident gardens, and uber modern finishes. We have some really great options for all sorts of buyers and their budgets."
