Bedrock and Barton Malow celebrated a significant milestone at the Hudson's site tower this week, as they raised the final beam to "top off" the skyscraper. The new building is now coming in at 685 feet high.
According to a release, more than 2,700,000 hours of recorded labor have gone into this development.
“The talent and dedication of Detroit’s tradespeople has been a driving force on the Hudson’s Site and integral to achieving this landmark project,” said Dan Gilbert, Founder & Chairman of Bedrock. “We are proud of their individual contributions, that will make this a generational development and will surely enhance the city’s skyline for Detroiters and visitors for decades to come.”

When completed, the tower will be home to office space, premium residential units, and a 5-star hotel.
Construction started on the project in late 2017. The development also includes a neighboring building that will have office, retail, and event space. A new plaza will be developed between the two buildings.
Bedrock posted a variety of videos this week leading up to the ceremony, including a look at the historic Hudson's building and the need to go vertical.
