We now know what will take up all 45 stories of the new Hudson's Detroit skyscraper. It will be home to both an Edition Hotel - the Detroit Edition - and the Residences at The Detroit Edition. Work has started on both, with availabilities in 2027, according to a release. Commercial tenant build-out will be available in 2025.
97 for-sale condos will be located above the Detroit Edition. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing will run the sales and marketing of the condos. The Residences at Detroit Edition will have 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities exclusively for residents, plus access to the hotel's amenities. These include a fitness center, outdoor terrace, a pool, valet parking, in-residence dining, and housekeeping.
Interiors for the condos will be designed by Yabu Pushelberg.
The Detroit Edition will be the first location for the brand in the Midwest and the first five-star hotel in Detroit. It will have four distinct food and beverage spaces, a spa, fitness center, a pool, and a large outdoor terrace.
“Hudson’s Detroit is synonymous with excellence, style and grit, so it is only fitting that it will be home to legendary and iconic global brands,” said Dan Gilbert, Founder of Bedrock. “Edition's eagerness to enter the Detroit market and introduce its first property in the Midwest, is a true testament of how magnetic our city is today. Hudson’s will be a catalyst for attracting visitors, residents and businesses to the city and we welcome them to enjoy all the amenities, entertainment, retail, hospitality and dining that Detroiters know and love.”
This is the fourth major announcement for the site in a week. The skyscraper topped off last week to reach its final height, then the official name - Hudson's Detroit- was announced. Earlier this week, GM announced that they'll be moving their Headquarters into the office building at the Hudson's site.
